Outreach Committee

He has told you, O mortal, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?  Micah 6:8

The mission of the Outreach Committee is to:
  1. Provide information to our congregation with Mission Moment's once a month during worship
  2. Hold Talk-it-Over Lunches on timely issues
  3. Emphasize Open Hearts, Open Minds, Open Doors
We provide support for our community through:
  • Our emergency food pantry
  • Individual monetary support.  In 2009 we gave to:
  • Outreach for the needy and homeless including:
    • PALM (Provide a Loving Meal) dinners
    • AMP (After School Mentoring Program)
    • Holiday meals for school children.  Many children have no access to breakfast and/or lunch during Christmas break and Spring break.  We provide sack lunches during those school holidays.
    • Special meals for families at Christmas.  We were able to purchase and give 20 dinners that were delivered December 23.
    • Rummage sale - providing clothing and household items to area residents at very low prices
    • Coat closet - providing coats, sleeping bags, and other winter clothes to the needy
  • Cinco De Mayo dinner in cooperation with the local Hispanic Council
We reach out to the world through support of national and international mission projects

Emergency Food Closet

From July 26 through  August we provided 22 people with bags of food.

September's request is for:
    canned meats
    beans and vegetables
    peanut butter
Thank you for caring!
