Reading Program Book Review

The Hospital by the River

by Dr. Catherine Hamlen with John Little

Gynecologists Catherine and Peg Hamlin went to Ethiopia from Australia on a short contract to establish a midwifery school in 1959 and stayed over 40 years.

Catherine stayed on after Peg died.  It is an amazing story of one of the outstanding medical programs in the world for women.  They have operated on over 25,000 women for the catastrophic affects of obstructed labor in giving birth.

An interesting and inspirational story of determination and Christian faith.
