Trustees

Let the priests receive from each of the donors; and let them repair the house wherever any need of repairs is discovered. 2 Kings 12:5

God Bless our beautiful old, sturdy building!

August Report:

The Trustees are proud to say that the front entry and accessible ramp project is complete.

The sprinkler system is working and still has a few bugs in it.   The front lawn looks excellent.

We are presently seeking information from several sources on improvements to the guttering.  We need some protection from water above the ramp and several other areas.  We have contacted 3 gutter companies from Klamath Falls and none want to do the job.   (Most companies work only on gutters 12 foot or less from the ground).

The Trustees have gotten one estimate for updating and Health Department related plumbing changes for the Fellowship Hall.  We are in the process of getting more estimates before making a decision.

We also are looking at a natural gas snow melt system for the ramp and front entry.  We have an estimate of $5800 and a comment that it might cost one to two hundred dollars a month for natural gas to heat it.  However, wouldn’t it be a welcoming, safe and damage preventing investment?

The Trustees had a lively discussion about the “men’s” bathroom at the base of the basement stairs.  We are now considering improvements to that bathroom including the possibility of a shower where the corner storage room is.   What are your feelings on this?

Other business included a discussion of round tables for the Fellowship Room.

We are also seeking out a carpet layer who could repair the red carpet in the sanctuary  that is  temporarily fixed with duct tape.

Next Meeting:  August 9.

We need to replace our church's Bell Tower Cross
Four styles of crosses might be possible*

Link to 20/20 Vision Page

A family in our church is donating the new cross as a memorial.
The Trustees would like your help deciding which cross to purchase.
Below are pictures of the four possible crosses.
You may either download a PDF form, fill it out, and give it to the Trustees,
or
You may e-mail the Webmaster with your preferences and I will pass it on to the Trustees.
If you e-mail the Webmaster, please include your name, your 1st, 2nd, and 3rd choices of style, and the type of material you think would be best.
*Reasons you need to pick a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd preference:
For the United Methodist Flame, it may not be possible to get one for the Bell Tower that meets Trademark requirements and fewer companies make it.
For the Diamond/Beveled shape, fewer companies make it.
Possible materials:
Wood, Aluminum, Fiberglass
PLEASE NOTE:  The color of the standard, diamond/beveled, and Celtic crosses will probably not be white.
We will choose a color later.  Your suggestions are welcome.

Recent Projects:

Projects and Needs for the Near Future:

  • Repoint foundation mortar (interior foundation)
  • Add, repair, and replace gutters - the gutter over the front entrance has a very large hole
  • Heat tape for gutters - keep those dangerous icicles from forming in the winter
  • Organ repair
  • Waterproof window well covers
  • Folding chairs for the fellowship hall and a cart to hold them
  • A new cross for the bell tower.  One of our church families is buying a new cross as a memorial.

Trustees are funded separately from the general fund and therefore depend on the generosity of church members.  Many thanks to those who are faithfully giving to our Capital Funds account.
